Frequently Asked Questions
FAQS
Can individual therapy help with family conflict?
Yes. Individual therapy can help people better understand communication patterns, emotional triggers, unresolved conflict, boundaries, attachment wounds, and relationship dynamics that continue impacting emotional well-being and connection within families and other relationships.
What if family relationships feel emotionally exhausting?
Many people seek therapy when family relationships begin feeling emotionally draining, tense, disconnected, or difficult to navigate. Therapy can help people process emotional stress, improve communication, strengthen boundaries, and better understand long-standing relational patterns.
Can therapy help improve parent-child relationships?
Therapy can help parents and adult children navigate communication breakdowns, emotional distance, unresolved hurt, conflict, attachment wounds, and difficult relationship dynamics while working toward healthier patterns and stronger emotional connection.
What is adult child estrangement?
Adult child estrangement refers to emotional distance, limited contact, or complete disconnection between parents and adult children. These situations are often emotionally complex and may involve unresolved conflict, communication challenges, unmet emotional needs, boundaries, or long-standing relationship patterns.
Can EMDR help with family trauma or relationship trauma?
Yes. EMDR-informed therapy can help clients process trauma, emotional triggers, difficult relationship experiences, childhood wounds, family conflict, anxiety, and experiences that continue feeling emotionally “stuck” long after they occurred.
Do I have to talk about every detail during EMDR?
No. EMDR does not require clients to verbally relive every detail of painful experiences in order to begin processing them. Many people appreciate that EMDR can feel more internally focused than traditional talk therapy alone.
Why do certain interactions feel so emotionally overwhelming? I thought I was over it.
Current relationship dynamics can sometimes activate unresolved emotional experiences, attachment wounds, communication patterns, or long-standing family roles. Therapy can help people better understand emotional reactions and develop healthier ways of responding.
Can therapy help with divorce and co-parenting stress?
Yes. Therapy can help individuals and families navigate divorce, co-parenting challenges, communication difficulties, emotional adjustment, changing family roles, and conflict connected to major family transitions.
About Me
I’ve spent most of my career working with children and families in many roles, each one shaping the way I support people today. My journey began with an internship at Walt Disney World, where I developed a love for creating positive, welcoming environments for families.

After earning my Bachelor’s in Marriage and Family Studies, I worked in the judicial system, child welfare, and foster care, gaining firsthand experience supporting children, parents, and families through trauma, crisis, court involvement, and major life transitions. I later earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling.

Today, as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), I provide virtual therapy for adults, parents, couples, and families navigating parent-child conflict, adult child estrangement, no contact relationships, difficult family dynamics, divorce, communication challenges, trauma, boundaries, and life transitions. My approach is warm, direct, and focused on helping clients better understand patterns, strengthen relationships, and create lasting change
